Die Gewinner:innen der Critics Choice Awards 2022

Bei den Critics Choice Awards am Sonntag gewann „The Power of the Dog“ bzw. Mitwirkende des Filmes gleich vier Preise. Auch „Belfast“ räumte drei Preise ab.

• Die Verleihung der Critics Choice Awards 2022 fand am Sonntag, den 13. März gleichzeitig im Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles und Savoy Hotel in London statt.
• Früher am Tag fand die Verleihung der BAFTA Awards (British Academy Film Awards) in London statt, weshalb viele Stars ihre Preise von dort aus annahmen.
• Taye Diggs und Nicole Byer übernahmen die Moderation des Filmevents.

Am Abend wurde „The Power of the Dog“ erst mit dem Preis als „Bester Film“ und Jane Camion für die „Beste Regie“ ausgezeichnet, dann folgten zwei weitere Preise für die Produktion. Der Film zeigt Benedict Cumberbatch in der Hauptrolle des Westerndramas. Den Preis für den besten Hauptdarsteller konnte der 45 Jährige jedoch nicht abräumen.

Die Preise für die besten Hauptdarsteller:in gewannen Jessica Chastain in „The Eyes of Tammy Faye“ und Will Smith für seine Rolle in „King Richard“.

Für die Preise der besten Nebenrolle wurden „West Side Story“-Darstellerin Ariana DeBose und „CODA“-Darsteller Troy Kotsur geehrt.

Des weiteren gewann die Kostümdesignerin Jenny Beavan einen Preis für ihre Kostüme im Film „Cruella“. „Dune“ wurde mit dem Preis „Beste visuelle Effekte“ geehrt.

Im Bereich Sendungen gewannen die Serien „Ted Lasso“ sowie „Succession“ einige Preise. Die Disney-Serie „What if…?“ gewann den Preis für die „Beste Zeichentrickserie“.
